The Mystery Method

Erik Von Markovik

Most men have heard of The Mystery Method but the vast majority of them have no idea who the author "Mystery" really is. "Mystery" is the alias of Erik Von Markovika. Von Markovika was born on 21 September 1971 in Canada.

Being a mentalist and entertainer Von Markovika created the character, or stage name, “Mystery” in the late 1990s when he performed a stage show called "Natural Magic". Being a mentalist it was Von Markovika’s passion to study the psychology of human beings. This knowledge led to the development of his remarkable ability to seduce beautiful women and the formation of his formidable skills of attraction.

However, Mystery was not always a success with the ladies. By his own admission he spent most of his teen years and early twenties playing “nerdy” games such as “Dungeons & Dragons”. This left him with very little social experience and meant he had almost no interaction with girls.

It wasn’t until he reached his mid twenties that he started to socialise in nightclubs and other social venues. Discovering that he had an inability to attract girls he decided to refine his approach and seduction methods. Thus was born the start of a quest that would eventually lead Von Markovika to be unofficially “crowned” The World’s Greatest Pick-Up Artist!

Through trial and error Mystery tested different ways to attract women until he perfected the art of the pick-up which he calls “the game”. After making a name for himself for being such a proficient pick-up artist (which Von Markovika himself does not like being called) he started to teach other men his techniques on the Internet.

Through a newsgroup Von Markovika shared his observations, techniques and experience with other men and quickly became a well-known name in the seduction community. Before long he was actively teaching his seduction system and some of his students have become famous in their own right – Neil Strauss of “The Game” is a perfect example.

In 2004 Mystery’s methods were becoming so successful and sought-after that he partnered with author and seduction coach Nick Savoy to create The Mystery Method Corporation.

Mystery’s seduction techniques were offered for some time in a printed manual for seduction simply known as “The Mystery Method – how to get beautiful women into bed”. This book became a phenomenal success and spawned updated versions like “The Venusian Arts” which was created in 2006 after Mystery left the Mystery Method Corporation he set-up with Nick Savoy.

Savoy continued with the Mystery Method Corporation teaching Von Markovika’s techniques. The company and its teachings would eventually give-way to 21st Century seduction techniques taught by their new company Love Systems.

In 2007 Mystery appeared in his own reality TV series on VH1 entitled "The Pick-up Artist". In the series Mystery and his "wingman" train 8 socially awkward and inexperienced men how to attract and seduce beautiful women. Each of the men then competes to earn the title of "Master Pick-Up Artist".

The show was so successful that a second series aired in 2008.
